It's more complicated than that.

Dreams don't really end, they exist in their own realm.

I can move through that realm, and, theoretically, I can also force my consciousness back into my body.

But the dream realms and reality can start to blur together for me. I can't always tell them apart. If I don't know I'm dreaming I won't know to wake up.

Does that make sense?
