• zihao zhang usually just goes by hao. 18. Evil and Gay.
• a son from a family of incredibly powerful monster hunters that dates back centuries — it's quite literally in their blood. the zhang family was known for its brutal and ruthless reputation throughout history, going above and beyond most hunters' ethical codes to protect innocents over anything. the zhangs were known for their torture tactics and for enslaving demons who had wronged them by collaring them and, through exploiting traditional demon-hunter bonds, using all of their power until they were deemed useless and destroyed with no regard.
• in the modern age where monsters and demons are more apt to conceal themselves and live amongst humans, the zhang family seemed to settle down, too, only using their hunting abilities when necessary.
• too bad hao knows all this history (his parents don't deny their hunter blood) and is kind of obsessed with it. all that bloodlust that skipped out on a few generations probably all just built up and manifested inside this kid instead. regularly goes on hunts without his parents' knowledge or permission — and he doesn't even always do it for the bounties. sometimes it's just for fun.
• literally only going to college because he's on a baseball scholarship. a shortstop with a hell of an arm and a switch hitter with a penchant for flashy home runs. people don't know that he's so strong because of his hunter biology, and that's okay. it's not cheating if he can't help it.
• can probably wield any kind of weapon with some kind of natural ease, but his preferred weapon of choice is — you guessed it — a spiked baseball bat that he enchants to inflict even more pain with spells purchased from back alley dealers, usually covered in blood and guts.
• besides the whole murder thing, he's your typical college sports bro! a fun dude! loves partying with The Guys™ (who all kind of respect him in a fearful kind of way after he broke the arm of one of the team's relief pitchers who made a gay joke within earshot; the team collectively agreed not to snitch on him)! sucks at school, because he doesn't give a shit about it despite the fact that he needs good grades to keep his scholarship, and if he loses his scholarship, his parents might actually murder him!
